US Ambassador to Lao PDR visits Xekaman 1 Hydropower Project

 

To encourage, support and promote cooperation between Viet Lao Power Joint Stock Company and ACO Investment Group of America, on June 19, 2018, Ms. Rena Bitter - Ambassador of the United States to Laos visited and worked with Viet Lao Power Joint Stock Company, ACO Investment Group at Xekaman1 hydropower project in Xanxay district, Attapeu province, Laos.

Mr. Le Van Ton - Chairman of the Board of Viet Lao Power Joint Stock Company introduced the Company's projects in Laos to Ms. Rena Bitter - US Ambassador to Laos

 

At the meeting, Viet Lao Power Joint Stock Company introduced the overview of the Company's projects in Laos, the planning of connection of power projects that the company has been investing in Laos, preliminary planning of the 500kV backbone transmission line in Lao PDR (This master plan has been approved by VIETLAO POWER, ACO and Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 1 on June 14, 2018 in Hanoi).

The 500kV backbone power transmission line is a major project of great importance that has a direct impact on the electricity transmission of the solar power project in the Xekaman1 reservoir of Viet Lao Power Joint Stock Company (potential capacity of 1000MW). Viet Lao Power Joint Stock Company expressed wishes to cooperate with ACO Investment Group to jointly develop this 500kV backbone transmission project.

Mr. Phung Minh Cha - Deputy General Director of Viet Lao Power Joint Stock Company introduced the connection planning of the Company's projects in Southern Laos

and the preliminary connection planning of the 500kV backbone transmission line in Laos.

 

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Rena Bitter - US Ambassador to Lao People's Democratic Republic expressed delight and appreciated the cooperation between ACO Investment Group and Viet Lao Power Joint Stock Company.

Financial capacity, investment experience of both parties and US technology development will be among the important factors ensuring the success of investment projects between Viet Lao Power Joint Stock Company and ACO Investment Group.

The US Embassy in Laos is willing to help and create favorable conditions for  VIETLAO POWER and ACO / Convalt Energy cooperation to be successul, contributing to the development of the relationship between Laos and Vietnam and the relationship between US and Southeast Asian countries. At the same time, it contributes to the socio-economic development of Laos.

At the meeting, Mr. Le Van Ton - Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors thanked Ms. Rena Bitter - US Ambassador to Laos for her kind attention and  help for the ACO investment group and Viet Lao Power Joint Stock Company to cooperate in developing clean and renewable energy projects, electricity transmission system and wished to receive further attention and assistance from the US Embassy in Laos and the ambassor herself. He believed that with the capability and experience of Viet Lao Power Joint Stock Company and ACO Investment Group together with the assistance of the US Embassy in Laos and other agencies of Vietnam and Laos, Investment cooperation between the two sides will be successful.
